Thomas Robert Kenney, 80, Naples, Florida

Thomas Robert Kenney, 80, of Valley Forge, PA and Naples, FL, retired Manager of the Northeastern Line Constructors Chapter & retired Director of Northeastern Joint Apprenticeship & Training, both for the power line industry, died at his home in Naples, Florida March 4, 2012.
Born in New York, Thomas grew up in Pennsylvania and graduated from West Philadelphia Catholic High School. He served his country in Korea with Company "D" 7th Cavalry Regiment being awarded the Combat Infantry Badge and three Bronze Stars for Meritorious Achievement.
Returning home, Thomas graduated from the apprenticeship program as a Journeyman Lineman. He then attended Penn State and St. Joseph's University, graduating from St. Joseph's with majors in industrial relations and accounting.
During his business career, Mr. Kenney served on industry trust funds as well as the Council on Industrial Relations in Washington, DC. Thomas was highly honored by his profession by being inducted into the Academy of Electrical Contractors for outstanding contributions to the electrical industry (NECA).
He loved his dogs, enjoyed reading, travel, poker, and sometimes golf. A resident and member of Twin Eagles Country Club in Naples, Thomas had also been a member of Whitemarsh C.C., Chester Valley G.C. and Naples Lakes C.C..
Thomas is survived by his loving wife, Pamela; daughter, Mary (Chris); grandchildren, Sean, Kaile, and Matthew; father-in-law, Woodruff Benson; sister-in-law, Linda (Ed) McGrenaghan; nephews, Bill (Beth) Hansel and Michael Hansel; his niece, Cynthia (Kevin) Mariotti; seven great-nieces and nephews; and his pugs, Mack and Winston.
Visitation and Mass will be at St. Norbert Church in Paoli, PA with interment at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
